Casey Ratliff has been flying for over 23 years, and instructing for 16, between the Air Force and General Aviation. He started flying in 1998 when he joined the Air Force, where he flew the F-16 and was an instructor in the T-38. Casey retired from the Air Force in 2018 and immediately started Texas Skies Flight School out at Boerne Stage Airfield. Casey is originally from Arizona, but moved around quite a bit while in the Air Force before settling in San Antonio. Before joining the Air Force and becoming a pilot.

Casey was a middle school math teacher, using his B.S. in Math Education from Northern Arizona University.

Director/Assistant Chief Officer- CFI, CFII, MEI and Cirrus TCI

Yancey Walker, although not a native Texan, swears he got here as fast as he could.  A proud graduate of San Antonio's own John Marshall High School and the United States Air Force Academy, Yancey has been surrounded by aviation his entire life.  As a pilot in the Air Force he served three tours flying the C-130 in OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, trained the next generation of aviators as a T-6 instructor pilot and amassed over 1100 freefall skydives as a member of the Wings of Blue.  He proudly retired in 2024 and because of his love for this town decided to make San Antonio his forever home.  

Office Manager

Holly has been a part of the Texas Skies Flight School family since April of 2021, as a Commercial pilot. She then completed her Cirrus Transition with Casey Ratliff who then offered her a position here as the flight school manager. Since then she has become more of a "momager" to each instructor and student here reaching their aviation goals.

Her love of aviation convinced her to purchase her own airplane, a Cessna 172 -N7083Q (AKA "Judy") with a previous instructor, which has now become a favorite of the school.

Instructor-Cirrus TCI

Jeff has been a Cirrus instructor with Texas Skies Flight School since 2020. He is a CFI, CFII who also flies a TBM for a local law firm and contract flights under his Skiba Skies company. Prior to becoming a pilot, Jeff was an IT consultant for 30 years and ran the consulting division of his last company. 

Jeff enjoys playing golf, the piano and guitar.  He used to dabble in songwriting and met several Nashville songwriters as a result.

Jake is 28 years old, grew up a military brat, and is married. Aviation is his second career and he loves every minute of it. Jake obtained all of his certifications leading to certified flight instructor, multi-engine instructor, and instrument instructor with zero checkride failures. His proudest accomplishment in aviation is having zero student checkride failures. Jake flies both the Cessna and Cirrus and likes to have fun and be productive while flying and maximizing student potential. He looks forward to helping you reach your goals in various aviation pursuits.

David is a CFI, CFII, and MEI. He went to ATP for his flight training where he flew a Piper Archer. He has been at Texas Skies Flight School since April of 2024 where he fly's the Cessna 172 and 182.

Bryce Rodgers, is a CFI,CFII, and MEI. He been flying for 2+ years and did his training at North Carolina and in Florida at Blue line aviation. He has flown various aircraft such as the Diamond 20, Diamond 40, Diamond 42, along with the Cessna 172 here at Texas Skies. Bryce was Born and raised in Fort Worth Texas. His father works for American Airlines so he grew a passion for aviation being able to go into the hangers at KAFW when he was a child. when Bryce is not flying he like to go to the gym with his fiancé and play with his French Bulldog named Stitch.

Ethan Birchard is a 27-year-old Certified Flight Instructor and Instrument Instructor with a lifelong passion for aviation. Born and raised in San Antonio, Ethan graduated from Texas Tech University and discovered his love for flying during his very first discovery flight. With deep roots in the aviation community, several of his family members are pilots. He brings both experience and enthusiasm to every flight. He’s currently flying Cessna’s. When he’s not in the air, Ethan enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, their German Shorthaired Pointer, and close friends and family. He’s excited to fly with you and help you reach your aviation goals.

Ric has been a pilot for 2.5 years and have enjoyed sharing the experience as an instructor at TX Skies. Before becoming an instructor pilot Ric spent 20 years in technology and a former Marine Corps Officer. Ric lives locally, and has traveled extensively for work.

Jay has been flying for more than 35 years. He began flying as a hobby but discovered he was able to effectively manage various commercial construction projects within the United States by flying to certain jobs when the opportunity allowed. Jay has logged flight hours in high performance complex aircraft throughout California, Texas, the Mid-West, Florida, New York, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas. Jay decided to share his love of flying with others and completed Commercial ASEL & AMEL Instrument, CFI, CFII, AGI and IGI certifications. He has a Gold Seal CFI Certificate, meaning he has an excellent student pass rate. Jay enjoys teaching safe “old school and new school” technologies to students seeking to complete private, commercial, instrument, CFI and CFII. In his time away from the airport he enjoys outdoor activities that include snow skiing, scuba diving and biking.

Dustin is a South Texas native with an aviation background stemming from his time in the Navy in 2012 as a maintainer and plane captain. After college he went to return to aviation working on Blackhawk helicopters in Corpus Christi TX as a contractor for the Army. Shortly after, he made the decision to stop working on airplanes and fly them. He moved to San Antonio in 2022 where he began his training and graduated with his commercial single engine and multi engine certs as well as his CFI and CFII.

As a Boerne native, Keagon started his aviation career right here with us at TSFS as a student pilot!  After earning his PPL with us he went on to earn his Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, CFI & CFII certificates flying out of Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Baton Rouge and Lubbock, TX.  He has a 10 year old son that is his pride & joy, and resides in the San Antonio area.

Alisea is a student pilot training here for her aviation career, while also managing the flight schools fleet of airplanes as the maintenance coordinator. She has been with Texas Skies Flight School since July, 2023. Her father Casey Ratliff, also chief pilot, had been her inspiration and support throughout her pilot journey. Alisea is a proud dog mom to Cannoli, aka the flight school mascot who is by her side 24/7, and is a tiny ball of joy.
